Here’s our approach to the economy: Do not panic.

These are crazy times and most of us are going to be living with less, but it is not the end of the world. In fact, it could be the beginning of a better world if you take a deep breath, focus on what’s important, and share your tips for spending less and living more.

OK, we took that deep breath. What now?

To tell you the truth, we’re not exactly sure either. But we know one thing: This is not a time to go it alone. We need to grow the circles of people in our lives and get more information about how to navigate these unprecedented economic times.

Our basic hunch here at the Fruugalist is that we can transform the parts of our lives that once depended on money, and create something new, more fun, more fulfilling. Maybe even richer, in some sense of the word.

So every weekday we’ll be bringing you the best in tips, conversation, encouragement and perhaps just the sense that together we can get through this thing and come out stronger on the other side.
